Inspirational talent: Kieron Williamson

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me." – Erma Bombeck

Have you heard of Kieron Williamson? No? You probably will in the future.

This young gent (he's now 9 years old I believe) has been compared to talent the likes of Monet and Picasso.

I went to art college. I admit I'm much better at painting walls than canvasses. During my time at NSCAD (and after) I have seen many aspiring artists struggle with technique, perspective, volume, etc. This boy has it all innately, and in three mediums: watercolour, oils and pastels.

Watch the video and be truly amazed. Seriously amazed. If you are at all interested in fine art Kieron's abilities will blow you away.

Hopefully he doesn't end up in an art college that succeeds in beating this huge talent out of him in an effort to conform. I've seen that before – an instructor that is more interested in replicating their own style than nurturing talent.

Sometimes art is purely about "feeling." For 9 years old, young Kieron has the depth of expression of a very old soul.

See what I mean? Told you, didn't I!
